Artist Statement
After an unexpected death, a young man reflects on his relationship with his younger sister, questioning his role in constructing the wedge between them. Told largely through dance, this short film examines the ability to mourn a connection purposely severed in the name of self-preservation. What does misunderstanding queerness do to the bond between siblings?

Aidan Vogel
Aidan (they/them) is a writer, filmmaker, creative and graduate from Columbia College Chicago’s Film and Television program. Whether it’s a series of detailed notes, independently led revisions, or writing a script from scratch based on a collaborator’s idea, Aidan prides themself on creating engaging stories, fleshed-out characters, and impactful themes. Aidan is passionate about the fusion of artistic mediums and the usage of practical effects like puppets, animation, and stop-motion, and they hope to use these skills to write for educational children’s television.
