“When I remove each piece of costume, I hope that my flesh is a concrete reminder of our humanness and humanity. Messy and beautiful in equal measure.”
— Crocodile Lightning
Crocodile uses the art of striptease to rekindle the connection with her body and femme sensuality. Similarly, she uses performance art both to unpack the socially constructed notions of gender and to express her courage, vulnerability, and resilience.
Crowned the Queen Ambassador of the Noire Pageant, Crocodile collaborates with local performers Egypt Blaque Knyle and Perle Noire to create access and representation for performers of color and queer artists through various community-based projects. Crocodile incorporates self-compassion and mindfulness practices in her performances and teachings by inviting the audience to challenge the status quo and awaken to the moment-to-moment vitality of life.
Crocodile Lightning is a high-voltage temptress whose face tells a tale and whose gaze electrifies with a blast of humor, a splash of sensuality, and a flash of naughtiness.

I dance for all of my ancestors who didn’t have the privilege to dance because the only movements they could do were to fight, flight, freeze, appease, and dissociate. I heal for all of my ancestors who couldn’t.
This art form has found me when I was ready to be done with self-hate, when I decided to reconnect with my body, and when I decided to reclaim my divinity. I took a vow to love, love well, and be loved. How lucky that I get to practice this vow each day in the studios and each performance on stage (or bar top) around the world.
When the illusions of perfection and permanence are unveiled, I’m breathing in curiosity and breathing out silent wonderment. I have been so in awe at our collective intuition to mobilize and regain mastery... in our own unique ways and at our own “wonder-full” pace.
I have become better at slowing down without compromising my self-worth. Not rushing into doing what isn’t serving me is exactly what I need. I love seeing how we redefine productivity, reclaim rest, and release old surviving habits that are weighing us down.
